Backup & restore policy

What we back up, how restores work, and what backups are — and are not — for.

At a glance

What we back up

Servers
The systems your business runs on, under our management.

Workstation data
Covered machines per your agreement — ask if unsure.

Cloud workloads
Email, files, and cloud apps included in your coverage.

Configurations
The settings that make systems rebuildable, not just restorable.

How a restore works

1
Tell us three things
What is missing, where it lived, and when it was last known good. Rough answers are fine.

2
We find the version
We locate the best restore point and confirm with you before restoring over anything.

3
Data comes back
Restored to place or alongside — your choice — and you verify it is what you needed.

What backups are not

Not an archive service — They answer “get back what was lost”, not “show me every version since 2019”.

Not version control — Documents that need change history belong in systems built for it.

Not a substitute for saving — Backups catch disasters, not the hour of work since your last save.

Note: A backup that has never been restored is a hope, not a plan — restorability gets verified, because backup jobs that quietly fail are an industry classic. Coverage specifics live in your service agreement.

Common questions

I just deleted something important. What do I do right now?+

Stop working in that system and contact us immediately — the sooner we hear, the better the restore options.

Can you restore a single file, or is it all-or-nothing?+

Granular restores are the normal case — a single file or mailbox does not require rolling back a whole server.

How far back can you go?+

That depends on the retention in your agreement — ask us for yours before you need it, not after.
